SKAYLOR GENERATIONS GEN 1 - 'Ant Heads' The first generation of Skaylor could be easily fooled into thinking someone was not biological by them wearing a robot costume. Their strong arms could tear things (and people) apart. They carried blaster weapons and defensive force-shields. They moved slower than humans. They were intelligent enough to design and build better robots, machinery and vehicles. Their vision systems were basic and object detection was prone to errors - It was possible to hide from them - even if part of you was visible - they might not detect you as being human - If you remained totally still and quiet they might just walk right by you - but you couldn't rely on that always being the case. They could hear sounds through regular microphones but could become confused if there was a lot of loud sound sources around them. They communicated amongst themselves through high-pitched loud screeching (Like that of a fax machine or old computer program loaded from a cassette tape), and the communication speed was slow. GEN 2 - 'Cone Heads' The Gen 2 Skaylors were developed aboard the Skaylor Space Station after the First gen Skaylors had left the Yellow Planet Cluster. These Skaylors were 1.5x faster than humans and considerably smarter than the Gen 1, giving them a great advantage in combat situations and in general efficiency. They were knowledgable in dissection and meat calving. The emitted loud sounds and bright flashing lights capable of causing confusion as well as permanent deafness and blindness. They were equipped with advanced sensors and more powerful weapons. As well as their blaster weapons they could spray acid and poison gas from their chest. They were able to detect animal heart beats at close proximity to help them locate anyone or anything that was hiding near by. They had improved vision (Including optical zoom) as well as thermal imaging, night vision, infra-red, image correction and 360 degree motion detection. Their image recognition systems had been greatly improved. They could communicate silently with each other over medium-range wireless networks. They were able to collaborate better in teams and were able to achieve more advanced and efficient tactical solutions. GEN 3 - 'Baldies' The Gen 3 Skaylors were fitted with 'disorientation technology': A new high-speed, mini-jet propulsion system allowed them to move incredibly quickly. They would move in erratic, confusing and unexpected ways, suddenly changing direction. They now had long-range communication abilities capable of relaying messages from the surface of a planet to other Skaylors within orbit range of a planet. Messages could then be relayed further across space through long-range booster stations. Team working had improved to the point where they were able to share their vision data, audio and other sensor data. They built realtime 3D maps for other Skaylors to reference. Using this technology, one Skaylor would know what is happening around a corner without needing a line-of-sight view (Providing that another Skaylor was in the line-of-sight). Projectile mapping and predictive planning was overlayed onto the 3D maps, enabling the Gen 3 Skaylors to very efficiently dodge incoming weapons fire and anticipate the actions of their targets. Each Skaylor had extremely high-level multi-tasking capabilities - they could be processing multiple combat strategies, engaging in several communication streams, running scenario predictions and scanning their extensive library simultaneously. This library detailed animal physiology, muscle, flesh and bone densities, capability limitations and weaknesses, and in-depth medical knowledge of cardio-vascular systems. They also had weaponised psychological techniques. The Gen 3 Skaylors no longer needed poison gas and acid canisters within them. The blinding lights and ear bursting sounds were also no longer required as they now blasted out lethal radioactive particles. Their intelligence level, strength and agility had given them almost 'God-like' capabilities.
